BEFuture, an innovative consortium backed by the European Commission committed to reshaping the business events industry, launched a Call for Best Practices earlier this year. This initiative, coordinated by the Catalan Tourist Board (Agència Catalana de Turisme), in collaboration with B. Link (B. Link Barcelona Strategic Projects SL), Tipik (Tipik Communication Agency), TVL (Toerisme Vlaanderen), Linkeus, VDVO (Verband der Veranstaltungsorganisatoren E.V.) and ETFI (Stichting NHL Stenden Hogeschool), was on the lookout for groundbreaking projects or initiatives that align with innovation, sustainability, digitalisation or resilience, offering fresh perspectives that can be applied to the business events sector.
The BMCC was selected as one of the top 10 best practices, together with 9 other European candidates. Our Director Sarah Cornand presented the BMCC candidady at IMEX in Frankfurt (14-16 May). The BMCC was rewarded for being a benchmark in sustainable architecture, incorporating solar panels, green roofs, and geothermal systems, and by using solar power for nearly 50% of its energy needs.
