Reflecting on a successful congress at the BMCC

We were delighted to welcome the 13th edition of Congress Public Space at the BMCC on 5 May 2026. For the second consecutive year, this leading event brought together professionals, policymakers and innovators to discuss the future of public space.

With more than 560 participants, the congress was completely sold out. Under the theme “Space in Motion”, attendees enjoyed a rich programme featuring international keynote speakers, thematic sessions in the auditorium, deep dives in the meeting rooms, city excursions, an exhibition forum and valuable networking opportunities.

The Public Space Forum showcased 25 exhibitors presenting their latest innovations at the expo hall, while the Public Space Award and Public Choice Award celebrated outstanding projects from across the sector. The day concluded with a vibrant networking reception, leaving participants inspired, connected and full of new ideas.

Sustainability was also a key focus throughout the event. Guests enjoyed a fully vegetarian lunch, while digital information screens and a dedicated event app replaced traditional printed programme guides. For the first time, physical goodie bags were eliminated in favour of an interactive QR incentive, helping to significantly reduce the event’s environmental footprint.

A sincere thank you to all organisers, speakers, exhibitors and participants for making this edition such a success.

We are delighted to welcome Congress Public Space back at the BMCC Bruges on 27 April 2027. After two successful editions, we look forward to hosting this inspiring event for the third consecutive year and welcoming the public space community once again to Bruges.
